We may be new on the scene but we are a company ran by black women that are working hard to create a product and brand that represents and uplifts our fellow black queens and goddesses! 4.THE CURLY TOP KNOT
We love seeing ya’ll wear your curls out and letting them flow and grow, but for some people it’s not always practical and for a hot summer night, it is nice to get your hair up. See our one of the best Natural Hair Enthusiasts, Dominique Dacres as she shows us how to achieve a sleek look with a curly flair featuring her curly Sheba extensions. For a professional chic look or just a cute up-do to rock on hot days, this Curly Top Knot is the best way to keep your curls under control while still keeping your bun poppin’.
Want to try out this Beauty’s look? Here’s what you’ll need and how to do it:
- ModernFro Clip-in Extensions (Dominique used her Sheba collection 14 inches)
- Hair bungee or hair elastic
- Bobby pins
- Spray Bottle
- Eco Styler Gel - Olive Oil
- Boar Bristle Brush
- Comb
- Optional: Leave-in conditioner and hairspray
1. You want to start with your natural freshly washed hair (we recommend stretched)
2. Apply a little leave-in
3. Gather your hair at the top of your head (as if you were going to make a ponytail) and comb it through the ends
4. Then slick your hair down with styling gel
5. Take your brush to smooth it out and make it neat and sleek
6. You want to take either your hair bungee or hair elastic and make a high bun with your own hair
7. Next, taking your first Modern Fro Clip-In Extension you will install them up upside down using the clips on the inside and the weft on the outside, so that the clips won’t be visible (only clipping the first and the last clips to the base of your hair)
8. Finally, you are going to take the hair from the extension and wrap it around your bun and pin it in place with a bobby pin (Basically just concealing your natural bun with the extension to create a fuller more textured look)
9. You repeat the same steps until you are satisfied with the fullness and look of your curly top knot look!
Optional: Seal in the look with a few sprays of hairspray
